About me
ANGELIKA ERBSLAND
I have been a professional artist and teacher for over 40 years. After studying Life Drawing, Painting and Ceramics at TAFE in Adelaide, I spent half of that time living and working in Sydney. I was teaching painting, drawing and ceramics during my career, have participated in many group exhibitions and have had several solo shows. I have also won many art awards, including the Packers Award in the Ardchibald competition.
My inspirations are the natural world, figures and faces, music and urban landscape, and I have a special interest in colour relationships. I am fascinated by the connections underground of trees, and how all of nature is co-dependant. This is reflected in my use of connecting shapes and movement in the paintings.
My painting style ranges from realism to abstraction, painting mainly from memory and imagination. My preferred media are watercolours, acrylics and mixed media.
